Professor Wale Sulaiman, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI), has described the immediate past Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Olarenwaju Oloyede, as one of Nigeria's leading education reformers.
Sulaiman said Oloyede's 10-year tenure as JAMB Registrar transformed the nation's tertiary admission system through reforms that improved transparency, efficiency, and public confidence in the examination body.
The FUHSI Pro-Chancellor, who fondly refers to Oloyede as "Egbon," described him as a brother, mentor, and trusted adviser whose guidance has inspired his dedication to national development.
According to Sulaiman, Oloyede consistently provided honest counsel and demonstrated exemplary leadership that shaped his approach to public service.
In his statement, he said;
“Prof. Oloyede is one of the reasons I continue to remain actively engaged in Nigeria. He has consistently encouraged me, inspired me and provided honest, unbiased counsel.
“He is a true mentor whose wisdom and leadership have shaped my outlook on public service,”
He applauded the former JAMB Registrar for introducing key reforms, including the expansion of Computer-Based Testing (CBT), improved candidate verification, stronger examination security, technology-driven admission processes, enhanced result management, transparent registration procedures, and greater institutional accountability.

"As he concludes this remarkable chapter at JAMB, his legacy will endure through the stronger institutions he built, the reforms he championed, and the countless lives he has impacted. Nigeria owes him a debt of gratitude for his exceptional service," Sulaiman said.
He prayed for Oloyede's continued good health, wisdom, and strength, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience would continue to benefit Nigeria's education sector and national development.
