JAMB to Roll Out Unified Mobile App and Paperless Operations as Aina Unveils Five-year Strategic Blueprint
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced plans to launch a unified mobile application and fully digitise its internal operations as part of the examination body's five-year transformation strategy, which is aimed at improving transparency, service delivery and public confidence in Nigeria's tertiary admissions process.
The reforms were announced by JAMB's newly appointed Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, as part of the board's 2026–2031 strategic roadmap, "JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma." The five-year plan is designed to build on the institutional reforms and achievements recorded during the tenure of the former Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, while advancing the board's digital transformation agenda to improve efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.
Presenting the roadmap, Aina described the strategic plan as a continuation of the reforms initiated under his predecessor, while introducing new digital innovations designed to position JAMB as Africa's most trusted and technology-driven admissions institution by the year 2031.

According to him, the agenda is built around a framework known as "Project 2:5:7," which consists of two strategic objectives, five institutional pillars and seven flagship projects that will guide the board's operations over the next five years.
"The agenda is anchored on JAMB's statutory mandate of providing fair, credible, secure and equitable access to tertiary education through transparent registration, credible assessments and merit-based placement of qualified candidates," Aina stated.
One of the major highlights of the reform package is the planned introduction of a Unified JAMB Mobile App, which will provide candidates, institutions and other stakeholders with easier access to the board's services through a single digital platform.
In addition, JAMB intends to transition to an enterprise-wide paperless digital administration system, a move expected to streamline internal processes, reduce paperwork, strengthen records management, and improve overall operational efficiency.
The seven flagship projects outlined by the registrar include:
A comprehensive independent technology review of JAMB's digital infrastructure.
Attainment of ISO 27001 Information Security Certification to strengthen data protection and cybersecurity.
Development of a unified JAMB Mobile App.
Strategic communication and brand repositioning.
Establishment of a unified customer service platform.
Full implementation of a paperless enterprise-wide administrative system.
Improved staff welfare and continuous capacity development.

Professor Aina explained that the implementation of the agenda will revolve around five key pillars: Integrity, Service, Governance, Technology and Partnership.
Speaking on integrity, he said the board would continue strengthening public confidence through internationally recognised standards, independent technology audits and transparent systems that promote accountability.
On service delivery, Aina noted that JAMB would focus on improving stakeholder engagement while delivering faster and more responsive services to candidates, institutions and other users of the board's platforms.
The governance pillar, according to him, will introduce stronger performance monitoring mechanisms, improved contract management practices, enhanced operational resilience and greater internal accountability to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
Technology, he said, will remain central to the board's transformation by expanding JAMB's in-house digital infrastructure through scalable platforms that improve service delivery, decision-making, and institutional efficiency.
He added that the partnership pillar would strengthen collaboration with financial institutions and other strategic stakeholders to support the successful implementation of the board's objectives.

Although the roadmap places significant emphasis on technology, the new registrar stressed that the board's workforce would remain its most valuable resource.
He urged members of staff to embrace innovation, professionalism and teamwork, noting that sustainable institutional success depends on shared values and collective responsibility.
Aina also reaffirmed his commitment to building enduring systems that transcend individual leadership tenures.
"People remain our greatest asset," he said, adding that his administration is committed to building systems that will outlive office holders, deepen public trust and establish JAMB as a global benchmark in technology-driven examination and admissions administration.
