According to him, the initiative is designed to strengthen transparency in the education system, eliminate data discrepancies, and build a reliable database of students benefiting from government-sponsored examinations.
“The biometric data capture is aimed at building a reliable education database, enhancing transparency, and ensuring accountability in our examination sponsorship programme,” the commissioner stated.
He further disclosed that the state government will sponsor over 20,000 students for the 2026 WAEC and NECO examinations, describing the intervention as part of ongoing efforts to support indigent and qualified candidates across the state.
Madawaki assured that the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Zamfara State Information Technology and Development Agency, remains committed to ensuring accurate data capture and effective implementation of education policies.

He noted that the system would help the government properly track beneficiaries and ensure that educational resources are directed to genuine students.
The initiative is part of broader reforms by the Zamfara State Government aimed at strengthening the education sector through digital tools, improved planning, and increased investment in student welfare and examination support programmes.
