The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has partnered with the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana, on innovative strategies to strengthen its archives, library, and gallery management as part of efforts to improve institutional development through global best practices.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, announced the collaboration during an expanded management meeting of the Board held on Friday, July 10, 2026, which was attended by a delegation from the Ghanaian university.
As part of the partnership, the Board has concluded plans to construct a modern Archives, Library and Gallery at its National Headquarters in Abuja.
The decision follows the recommendations of a visitation team led by JAMB's Director of Quality Assurance, Hon. Danladi Muhammed, after an assessment visit to the University of Cape Coast in Ghana.
While taking the visiting delegation on a tour of JAMB's current library and the proposed site for the new facility, Prof. Oloyede disclosed that the Board established its in-house archives about four years ago and is now preparing to upgrade it to meet international standards.

According to him, the National Archives of Nigeria initially assisted the Board in setting up the archives before it was later relocated to the Test Development Complex under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Department.
He explained that the partnership with the University of Cape Coast is aimed at improving the facility in line with global best practices, which informed the decision to move it to a more suitable location.
Prof. Oloyede also told the delegation that the collaboration forms part of JAMB's commitment to learning from other institutions and strengthening existing partnerships.

According to him, the Board believes that collaboration encourages innovation and the exchange of ideas, noting that the engagement with the Ghanaian university is intended to enrich JAMB's ongoing institutional reforms.
The Registrar further disclosed that JAMB currently operates two libraries—an academic library located at the Test Development Department and an administrative library situated at the Board's National Headquarters in Abuja.
The proposed Archives, Library and Gallery project is expected to preserve the Board's historical records, improve access to academic and administrative resources, and enhance knowledge management within the institution.
