The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified why some candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are encountering the message “No Result Yet” when attempting to access their scores.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Board’s Public Communications Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said it had received several enquiries from parents and guardians concerning the status of results for underage candidates.

According to the Board, the affected candidates have not had their results released, which explains the notification displayed on the result-checking portal.
“Please be informed that results for underage candidates have not been released. When such candidates attempt to check their results, the system will return the message ‘No Result Yet,” the statement read.
JAMB further explained that, in line with its admission guidelines, only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are eligible to sit for the UTME. However, underage candidates may be considered under a special category if they demonstrate exceptional academic ability.

The Board stated that such candidates must score 320 and above in the UTME and also achieve at least 80 per cent in subsequent screening exercises to qualify for further consideration.
It added that, in agreement with parents and guardians, only underage candidates who meet the minimum score requirement will be shortlisted for the next stage of the evaluation process.
JAMB concluded that candidates who successfully scale through these stages may be considered for admission under its exceptional candidates framework.
