The Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), in collaboration with the Oluwole Educational Foundation, has sponsored the National Examinations Council (NECO) registration fees for 345 indigent students across the Ilorin Emirate in Kwara State.
The National President of IEDPU, Alhaji AbdulMumini AbdulMalik, disclosed this during the symbolic presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries in Ilorin over the weekend. He was represented at the event by the union’s National Vice President, Alhaji AbdulRauf Issa.
AbdulMalik explained that the beneficiaries were carefully selected from the five local government areas that make up the Ilorin Emirate. According to him, the initiative covered students from 120 secondary schools, while five beneficiaries were chosen from each of the Emirate’s 69 wards.

The IEDPU president also called on parents and guardians to provide the necessary support and a conducive learning environment to enable students to excel in the forthcoming NECO examinations and other academic endeavours.
