UNIVERSITY PART-TIME COURSES

UNIVERSITY PART-TIME COURSES

Attending a university is the dream of every high school/secondary school graduate, but some students do not have the opportunity or resources to take part in full-time university courses. For this reason, enrollment to study part-time courses was made available in various higher institutions. Some students also enroll in part-time courses in other to acquire other skills and experience while they study.

WHAT ARE PART-TIME COURSES?

A part-time course is pretty much what it sounds like. It's a course designed to help students that are looking to study a university course but still juggle life around them. The benefits of part-time courses are many, but the most obvious are mentioned below;

  • Learning and earning: Students who are not opportune to be sponsored through their education can enroll for part-time studies. This allows them to work and earn money to cover their tuition fees. Also, individuals who already have a full-time job but want to further their education can enroll in part-time studies without having to quit their jobs.
  • Affordable: Applying for a full-time course in a higher institution or taking an extra degree might seem cumbersome due to high tuition fees, but with part-time courses, you are more likely to afford the fees. Yes, the fees might be a bit high, but you only have to pay per class. Which is way more affordable than putting down the whole tuition fee for the course at once.
  • Flexibility: Part-time studies are super flexible. There are many options for classes and you simply choose a class on a day and time that works for your schedule. Unlike full-time courses, there are typically several course options to choose from per semester so there are a lot of choices available for you with part-time courses.
  • Larger networking opportunities: Enrolling in a part-time course gives you more networking opportunities, both at school and in the cooperate world. Unlike the full-time courses which limit ones networking to just the school environment.

These are a few of the many benefits of part-time courses. Now the question is, can any course be studied part-time?

Part-time courses have numerous advantages but its limitations are on the number of courses that one can study part-time.
