SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NIGERIAN-BASED STUDENTS

In our previous article, we provided a list of some of the available scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students who would like to study outside Nigeria, but do not have the financial capability. The rate at which international scholarships are made available on various sites, one would think that scholarships are only awarded to students who want to study abroad, which is in fact not the case. There are scholarship opportunities available to students who would like to further their academic careers in Nigeria but are facing numerous financial constraints.

In this article, you will find a list of some of the available scholarship opportunities for Nigerian-based students, your illegibility, and how to apply. Go through the list of available scholarships, pick the ones you are eligible to apply for and begin the application process immediately before the deadline approaches.

 

LIST OF UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS IN NIGERIA

 

Nto Annang Foundation Baltimore Washington DC Chapter Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to indigenes of the Annang Local Government Area (Abak, Etim Ekpo, Essien Udim, Ika, Ikot Ekpene, Obot Akara, Oruk Anam, and Ukanafun) who are attending a University in Nigeria (polytechnic students are not eligible). Etinosa Oghogho Foundation Scholarship

This is a scholarship opportunity awarded yearly by the foundation and not restricted to indigenes of any particular state or local government area. Rehoboth Dream Solid Foundation Scholarship Application

This scholarship is made available to applicants by the foundation through the general public at the beginning of every academic year. Adverts are placed on the foundation’s official website and written to some colleges and higher institutions. Interested applicants must be citizens of Nigeria who are enrolled full-time for a first-degree program in a public tertiary institution (university, polytechnic, or college of education). David Oyedepo Foundation Scholarship Scheme

The David Oyedepo Foundation scholarship programme awards full scholarships to qualified applicants who are indigenes and residents of African countries. The scholarship seeks to develop youth leaders who are ready to put their learned skills to work in leading organizations, communities, and their local countries. The scholarship allows students to study at Covenant and Landmark University, Nigeria.

Note: The application for the scholarship does not guarantee admission to the specified Universities; all admission to the University is to be secured independently by going through the University’s admission process. MTN Foundation Scholarships for Tertiary Students

The MTN Foundation (MTNF) is currently receiving applications for its annual scholarships awarded to students of tertiary education in Nigeria. The scholarship is open to eligible 300-level students studying Science & Technology-related courses, in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). 300 successful students are awarded scholarships worth N200,000.00 annually till graduation, provided they maintain the required grades. The scholarship is also available to visually impaired (blind) students with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 or 2.5, also depending on their programs.
