Ambassador-designate to South Korea and former senator representing Plateau South, Senator Nora Daduut, has donated a fully equipped Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre to her constituency as part of efforts to expand access to digital education and examination facilities.
The initiative is aimed at improving computer literacy among students in rural communities while preparing them for the growing demands of technology-driven learning and assessments.
Beyond providing the CBT facility, Daduut has also directed the immediate commencement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training for students selected from various secondary schools within the area. The programme is designed to equip young learners with practical computer skills and build their confidence in using digital tools.
Speaking on the project, the former lawmaker stressed the importance of exposing students to technology from an early stage, noting that many young people in rural communities remain disadvantaged due to limited access to computers and digital learning resources.

She explained that the decision was influenced by challenges witnessed during the most recent Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), where some candidates reportedly struggled to navigate computer-based examination systems because of inadequate ICT exposure and unfamiliarity with digital devices.
According to the senator, the situation highlights the need for sustained investment in digital education, especially in underserved communities where students often face barriers that their urban counterparts do not encounter.
The CBT centre, located in Kwala community in Quan’pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, was built in her honour and donated by her grandchildren. She noted that the facility would serve a dual purpose: functioning as a JAMB examination centre and providing a platform for continuous ICT training for students and other community members.
