WAEC Disowns Fake Letter on WASSCE English Language Examination

The management of the West African Examination Council, through its X handle, has denied a fake letter circulating online about the 2026 English WASSCE exam that's taking place today. WAEC says the letter isn't from the council and should therefore be disregarded by candidates, schools, principals, proprietors, and other concerned individuals.

In a post on its X (formerly Twitter) handle, WAEC wrote;

"This letter did not originate from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). It is the work of mischief-makers intending to cause panic and disrupt the ongoing examinations."

WAEC stated that the letter, which is titled "WASSCE ENGLISH LANGUAGE EXAMINATION: SPECIAL SECURITY AND OPERATIONAL UPDATES", is `an handiwork of mischievous persons to cause panic and anxiety among candidates.
