The Federal Government has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the ongoing 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), praising the seamless introduction of Computer-Based Testing (CBT) in selected centres nationwide and reaffirming its commitment to a gradual transition to digital examinations.
The commendation came from the Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, during a monitoring visit to examination centres in Abuja. The minister inspected activities at Government Secondary School, Garki, and Apo Boys Secondary School, where she observed both CBT-enabled and traditional paper-based examination sessions.
According to the minister, the exercise has so far been conducted smoothly, with candidates displaying confidence, discipline, and readiness regardless of the examination format. She noted that students at CBT centres were able to navigate the digital platform without difficulty, while paper-and-pencil centres maintained orderly and properly supervised environments.

Reaffirming the government's position on examination reforms, she stated that the migration to digital assessments would continue gradually and inclusively, taking into account the level of infrastructure available in schools across the country.
