The Taraba State Government has called for a malpractice-free conduct of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), warning principals, supervisors, and invigilators against any act capable of undermining the credibility of the examination process.
The charge was given by the Taraba State Commissioner for Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, during a sensitisation meeting organised for examination officials ahead of the 2026 WAEC exercise in the state.
The meeting, which was held at the Government Technical and Training School in Jalingo, brought together principals, invigilators and supervisors from Lau, Karim Lamido, Jalingo, and Ardo Kola Local Government Areas.
Speaking during the session, the commissioner stressed the need for professionalism and integrity throughout the examination period, insisting that all officials must strictly comply with WAEC regulations.
“Taraba State must continue to stand out in academic excellence through hard work and credibility,” she said.
She added that the government was determined to ensure “zero malpractice during the conduct of WAEC examinations.”

He further praised the governor for donating a utility vehicle to the WAEC office in the state, noting that the gesture would improve the council’s operations during examinations.
