The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it has partnered with security agencies to ensure maximum safety at examination centres as the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) continues nationwide.
The Head of National Office of WAEC in Nigeria, Dr Amos Dangut, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Lagos, noting that the council had engaged relevant security agencies to safeguard lives and property, particularly in volatile areas.
He also called on politicians and Nigerians to avoid any form of political violence that could disrupt the ongoing examination, especially as campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.
