The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new technology-driven system that allows candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to verify and upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes.
The new system currently covers results from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), meaning candidates will no longer have to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres regularly to complete the O’Level result verification and upload process.
Under the new arrangement, candidates can use JAMB’s e-Facility platform to verify their results after obtaining a verification code. The Board will then authenticate the submitted result directly with the relevant examination body before uploading the verified result to the candidate’s JAMB profile.
To use the service, candidates are required to provide their National Identification Number (NIN), obtain a verification code, and make the required payment.

Candidates can also use JAMB’s SMS option by sending “VERIFY” followed by the verification code to 55019 or 66019 to initiate the verification process.
JAMB said the new technology-based system was introduced to make its services faster, safer and more convenient for candidates, particularly during periods of high demand when CBT centres often experience heavy traffic.
According to the Board, the initiative will help reduce long queues at CBT centres while also minimising errors associated with manual data entry. It is also expected to reduce challenges linked to network failures at CBT centres, which can sometimes delay candidates during registration and other processes.

The introduction of the home-based verification system is part of JAMB’s broader efforts to simplify its processes and reduce the burden placed on candidates who need to complete admission-related requirements.
JAMB is expected to expand the direct verification system to include O’Level results from other examination bodies, allowing more candidates to complete the process remotely without having to visit CBT centres.
The development is expected to provide greater convenience for 2026 UTME candidates and further strengthen JAMB’s use of technology in the registration and admission process.
