JAMB extends 2026 DE registration deadline to May 22

Aspiring candidates of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Direct Entry (DE) examination are hereby informed that the management of JAMB has again extended the 2026/2027 registration deadline for the Direct Entry (DE) admission application exercise.

The goal of the deadline extension to 22 May 2026, according to JAMB, is to give additional time to prospective Direct Entry candidates to complete the registration and possibly upload the necessary credentials required for the admission process.

The board's explanation of the reason for the prompt extension is that a lot of candidates were having challenges in obtaining the relevant documents needed for their applications, thus making this extension a necessity.

Recalled that JAMB had earlier extended the registration period to May 8, alongside the approval of additional accredited registration centres nationwide. So, the new deadline extension undeniably reflects the Board’s commitment to ensuring that all eligible candidates are fully included in the 2026 admissions process.

JAMB urges prospective candidates to leverage the extension judiciously and avoid waiting until the final days to complete their registration. Also, ensure that all information submitted during registration is correct to avoid complications during admission processing.
