2026 UTME: JAMB Schedules UTME Mop-Up Examination for June 13

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Saturday, June 13, 2026, as the date for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise, targeting candidates who were biometrically verified but could not sit the examination during the main examination window.

The board's spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement released Monday evening, describing the exercise as "the final phase of the annual UTME exercise" and an opportunity to resolve all outstanding examination challenges for affected candidates.

Recall that the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 23 and April 29, 2026. However, technical failures at several examination centres disrupted proceedings, preventing some candidates from sitting the examination. Compounding the situation, certain results were subsequently withdrawn after examination infractions were detected, while other candidates who physically presented themselves at their centres could not be cleared by the biometric verification process. All candidates falling within these categories have since been listed for the mop-up examination.

UTME Mop-Up Exam Slip Printing and Preparations

JAMB has directed all affected candidates to commence printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026, one week ahead of the mop-up date. The board further urged candidates to familiarise themselves with their designated examination centres and make all necessary logistical arrangements well in advance.

In what appears to be a firm and unambiguous directive, JAMB warned that the June 13 mop-up examination represents the absolute last opportunity for any candidate to participate in the 2026 UTME cycle. "There will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop-up exercise," the board stated.
