This is to inform the general public, especially candidates who participated in the just-concluded 2026 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise, that the board has released the UTME mop-up results.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise conducted for candidates affected by various challenges during the main examination.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed that candidates who participated in the mop-up examination can now access their results through the Board’s approved result-checking channels.

According to Benjamin, the release of the mop-up results effectively concludes the 2026 UTME examination cycle and signals the commencement of the admission processing stage.
“With the successful conduct of the mop-up exercise and the publication of the results, the Board will proceed with the ranking of candidates,” Benjamin stated.
He further disclosed that the printing of result slips, a key requirement for admission screening and processing, is expected to begin before the end of the week.
JAMB also appreciated candidates, parents, and other stakeholders for their patience, cooperation, and support throughout the examination period.

The mop-up examination was held on June 13, 2026, to cater to candidates who were successfully verified during the main UTME but could not sit for the examination due to technical glitches, biometric verification issues, or other disruptions at their designated examination centres.
More than two million candidates participated in the 2026 UTME, which was conducted nationwide in April.
Since the release of the main UTME results, JAMB has maintained the minimum admission benchmarks at 150 for universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education. The Board has also opened its portal to enable candidates to make changes to their course of study or institution of choice ahead of the admission exercise.
With the release of the mop-up results, attention is now shifting to the admission process as tertiary institutions prepare to commence screening and candidate selection for the 2026/2027 academic session.
