JAMB Gives Candidates August 31 Deadline to Accept or Reject Pending Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed candidates with unresolved admission offers from the 2020 to 2025 admission cycles to accept or reject the offers on or before August 31, 2026.

The Board issued the warning in a post on its official X page, urging affected candidates to check their admission status and take the necessary action before the deadline to avoid possible forfeiture.

“JAMB has warned candidates with pending previous admission offers to accept/reject them before August 31, 2026, to avoid possible forfeiture. Candidates are advised to check their admission status and take action before the deadline,” the Board stated.

Candidates with outstanding admission offers are required to log into their JAMB profiles and access the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to determine whether they have any pending offers.

Those who intend to proceed with an admission offer should select the acceptance option on CAPS, while candidates who do not wish to take up an offer should reject it through the platform.

JAMB CAPS is the Board’s admission management platform that enables candidates to view admission offers from institutions and indicate whether they accept or reject them.

The directive affects candidates from the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 admission cycles who may still have unresolved admission offers on their profiles.

JAMB advised affected candidates to take action before the August 31 deadline rather than wait until the final day. Candidates who fail to respond within the stipulated period may risk forfeiting their pending admission offers.
